ABOUT DR. MAHESHWOR BHATTA

Consultant – Yoga & Mind–Body Medicine | BAMS • MD (Yoga)
Trainer • Speaker • Founder - Arogya Movement/आरोग्य अभियान

My work focuses on improving health through the integration of Mind–Body Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine and Yoga Medicine. I believe better health begins with understanding the whole person—the continuous interaction between the body, mind, thoughts, emotions and lifestyle.

Alongside clinical practice, I work as a researcher, author, trainer and founder of Arogya Movement, translating scientific knowledge into practical approaches for individuals, healthcare professionals and communities.

My work across clinical care, research, professional training and public health education is guided by one purpose: to make evidence-based integrative healthcare more practical, accessible and meaningful in everyday life.

The Journey That Shaped My Work

During my medical education and clinical practice, I encountered people living with persistent stress, anxiety, poor sleep, chronic pain, psychosomatic symptoms and lifestyle-related health concerns. Their experiences taught me that understanding a health condition sometimes requires looking beyond the symptom itself—to the person’s body, mind, thoughts, emotions and lifestyle.

My medical journey began at the Ayurveda Campus, Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University, where I completed my Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) in 2018. Ayurveda introduced me to a whole-person perspective of health and built my foundation in clinical medicine, prevention and lifestyle-based care.

As my clinical experience grew, I became increasingly interested in questions such as: Why does stress affect the body? Why can emotional distress appear as physical symptoms? Why do sleep, behaviour and lifestyle influence recovery?

This curiosity led me to S-VYASA Deemed-to-be University, Bengaluru, where I completed my MD in Yoga (2020–2023) and deepened my understanding of Yoga Medicine, mind–body interactions, psychophysiology, therapeutic yoga and lifestyle interventions.

Over time, these experiences shaped the way I practice today. Rather than looking only at “What condition does this person have?”, I also try to understand:

“What factors are shaping this person’s health?”

This perspective now forms the foundation of my work across Mind–Body Regulation, Yoga Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, research, professional training and public health education.

It also inspired me to establish Arogya Movement—with a broader vision of making evidence-based health knowledge practical, accessible and meaningful in everyday life.

My purpose is simple: to help people better understand their mind, body and lifestyle—and use that understanding to build healthier, more sustainable lives.
